The programme
is intended to provide opportunities for secondary-school teachers and
administrators from all over the world to observe first-hand the educational
system, culture, and society of Japan and thereby to contribute to mutual
understanding and goodwill between Japan and their own countries.
The Japan Foundation arranges the details of the programme in Japan in
cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture,
the Overseas Educational Society of Japan, and the Prefectural Boards of
Education concerned. In 2001 a total of 301 secondary-school teachers,
from more than 83 countries, will be invited to Japan for 15 days divided
into 4 groups, each group will be composed of about 75 persons, and these
groups will be invited to Japan in May, June, September and November in
turn.
From Pakistan 2 to 3 secondary-school teachers are invited every year (normally in the month
of June) to visit Japan for 15 days. Details of secondary-school teachers
