japanese photo panel Exhibition entitled "contemporary japan caught
by lens" held at the faisalabad arts council

The Embassy of Japan in Pakistan in collaboration with the Faisalabad Arts Council has inaugurated an exhibition of photo panels titled “Contemporary Japan Caught by Lens” here at the premises of the Faisalabad Arts Council on 24th September, 2013. The exhibition comprises of the photographic works of Mr. Jahangir Khan, who took these pictures in Japan during his photojournalism training provided by one of leading Japanese newspapers ‘Asahi Shimbun’ from October 2009 to March 2010.
Around 150 pictures are displayed in the exhibition, showing many different aspects of Japan, such as rural and city life, traditional and contemporary buildings, festivals, sports, and so on.
At the inaugural ceremony, Ms. Tomoko Koide, Deputy Director, Public Affairs Department, Embassy of Japan, said that this photo exhibition is the fruit of an excellent effort made by a Pakistani photographer, Mr. Jahangir Khan, who tried his best to show the socio-cultural aspects of the Japanese society to the Pakistani people back home. He hoped that this exhibition will be a good opportunity for Pakistani viewers to discover various aspects of the Japanese society and its people.
The exhibition will remain open until 8th October 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. except holidays. (End)
