A five-day workshop for learning Japanese technique of woodblock print making commenced at Nomad Art Gallery today which is largely participated by teachers, students and general public having interest in handmade paper prints.  Dr Shahida Mansoor who has studied Japanese woodblock print making from Tokyo National University of Arts and Music, will conduct this week-long workshop to impart the Japanese technique of print making to the Pakistani people.
Dr. Shahida was granted Monbusho Scholarship by the Government of Japan and she is the first recipient of the doctoral degree in the field of Japanese wood block print making, from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.
The Workshop has been organized by the Embassy of Japan in collaboration with the Nomad Art Gallery, COMSATS University, MEXT Alumni Association of Pakistan and Pakistan-Japan Cultural Association. Mr. Toshikazu Isomura, Counselor, Public Affairs Department of the Japanese Embassy inaugurated the workshop.
Mr. Toshikazu Isomura in his remarks at the opening day of the workshop highly appreciated Dr. Shahida Mansoor for teaching the Japanese technique of woodblock print making to the Pakistani people during the workshop. He thanked Ms. Nageen Hyat, Director Nomad Art Gallery, for extending cooperation in organizing this workshop at the gallery.

The workshop will conclude on 23rd May and the participants will be presented certificates by Mr. Hiroshi Inomata, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan.
