JAPANESE IKEBANA WORKSHOP TO BE HELD IN ISLAMABAD

Islamabad: 3 March, 2011

The Embassy of Japan in collaboration with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts, the Pakistan-Japan Cultural Association, Islamabad, and the MEXT Alumni Association of Pakistan has organized an Ikebana Workshop (Japanese art of flower arrangement) at the National Art Gallery (PNCA) from 10th March to 15th March 2011. Mrs. Asifa Ataka, Professor of Ikebana, has been specially invited from Karachi to conduct the workshop/demonstration in Islamabad. Mrs. Ataka studied Ikebana from the Ikenobo School, one of the leading flower arrangement schools in Japan.

Those who wish to attend the workshop are required to register their names to Mr. Mushtaq Moeeni, Senior Cultural Advisor, Embassy of Japan, on Telephone: 051-9072225 or by sending an email after filling the registration form. Registration forms are available on Embassy website; www.pk.emb-japan.go.jp. There is no registration fee. However, flower arrangement equipments and materials are to be brought by the participants according to the instructions of the Ikebana expert. (End)
