Ambassador of Japan Hosted a Dinner in Honor of Members of Pakistan-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group in the National Assembly

Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, Mr. Takashi Kurai hosted a dinner at his residence to exchange views with the Members of Pakistan-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group in the National Assembly, on Wednesday 18th May 2016. H.E. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker National Assembly and President of Pakistan-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group, also graced the occasion with his presence.

Ambassador Takashi Kurai welcomed H.E. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and the distinguished members of the Pakistan-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group and said that in the long run, people-to-people relations is a very foundation for the whole relationship between two countries and thus to enhance exchange of the members of the parliaments, who are representatives of the respective people, is of fundamental importance. In this context, he reiterated the significance of the visit of the Group members to Japan February last year and pledged all the efforts to be made for the Japanese side to reciprocate accordingly.

Addressing the gathering, H.E. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed that the visit of the delegation of Pakistan-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group led by Ms. Leila Khan, MNA as its convener, to Japan in February 2015, was very successful and greatly contributed to foster the mutual understanding between the parliamentarians of the two countries. He also expressed his wish not only to increase the Japanese parliamentarians’ visit to Pakistan but also to achieve the visit of Honorable Speaker, House of Representatives, Japan to Pakistan for fostering the friendly parliaments’ relations already existing between two countries.

Japan and Pakistan established the diplomatic relation in April 28, 1952. Since then, both the countries have been enjoying the cordial and friendly bilateral relations in a wide range of areas. Japan also started its economic cooperation for Pakistan in 1954 and has built good bilateral relations stretching over the decades.
