I learned that the extremely strong earthquake occurred on 26th of October has left a number of casualties and extensive damages in Pakistan. On behalf of the Government of Japan, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the victims and their bereaved families.

Japan, as a friend of Pakistan, is ready to extend immediate necessary assistance. I sincerely wish the earliest rescue and recovery.
