Special Advisor for Foreign Affairs to President ABE Shinzo of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan (LDP) visited Pakistan

Islamabad: December 23, 2019
 
H.E. Mr. SONOURA Kentaro, Special Advisor for Foreign Affairs to President ABE Shinzo of the LDP, visited Pakistan from December 22 to 23. He has been working for H.E. Mr. ABE Shinzo, Prime Minister of Japan and President of the LDP, as the advisor for diplomacy and national security both in the government and in his party.
 
During his stay in Islamabad, the Special Advisor met Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari and Foreign Secretary Mr. Sohail Mahmood, and reaffirmed the importance of Japan-Pakistan relationship. He also attended the dinner hosted by Senator Shahzad Waseem, the convener of Parliamentary Friendship Group of Japan in the Senate, and the signing ceremony of MoC between the two governments regarding the Specified Skilled Workers.
 
He also visited Karachi before his visit to Islamabad and had fruitful discussions with Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and business leaders to foster the Japan-Pakistan bilateral cooperation. (END)
