The Embassy of Japan in Pakistan is seeking to fill a vacancy for an Economic Cooperation Assistant for Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).

Applicants should have English and Urdu proficiency, computer literacy, keen interest in rural development, and willingness to work as a team.

Completion of at least a Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to economic and social development is required. Please note that this is a contract-based appointment with an initial duration of one year, which may be extended to a maximum of three years and hence will not be a local staff of the Embassy.


𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄/𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆

The Embassy of Japan in Pakistan is seeking to fill a vacancy for an Economic Cooperation Assistant for Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP). The Economic Cooperation Assistant will be responsible for providing technical and operational support in the management of GGP. The position is based in Islamabad with frequent travel to fields.

𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀:

Administer grant applications, coordinate inquiries, and data management related to the grant applications
Review grant applications, including technical and financial review Facilitate smooth implementation of on-going projects in the field Administer past projects with periodic site visits
Maintain regular contact with project partners
Prepare project reports
 
𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀:

Detailed review of proposals, including analysis of project viability, financial sustainability, logic of project interventions, and overall feasibility of the application
Monitoring of on-going projects to assess progress against the approved work plans, timely identify issues of implementation, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to address such issues
Evaluate past projects in the field and report on projects sustainability, utilization, and management of facilities/equipment, and overall effectiveness of the grant
Facilitate high profile events related to the grants, e.g. grant contract signing ceremonies, inauguration ceremonies, etc.
Prepare quality reports, including preparation of press releases and speeches for diplomats

𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Job will be offered for a period of one year, which may be extended to a maximum of three years
This is a contract-based job. Selected candidate will not be the local staff of the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan

𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Bachelor degree in social sciences, economics or in relevant field

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

At least three years of rich experience in role of project management, monitoring, and evaluation in reputable national or international organizations
Proven track record of working with development partners/NGOs at grassroots level In-depth understanding of development issues and trends
Ability to travel and manage assignments in remote and hard areas

𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀

Proficiency in English and Urdu language
Excellent IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point) Excellent report writing and content creation
Good communication and presentation skills
Good interpersonal skills

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

Usual work place: The Embassy of Japan in Pakistan
Holidays: Closed days of the Embassy (in according with national holidays of Pakistan and Japan)
Salary: Determined through negotiations based on experience and achievements, about PKR 150,000 or more
The Embassy will provide daily allowance and reimburse field-related expenses for field visits/activities.
