            Japan Donates Tatami Mats to Pakistan Judo Federation
           
                                                                                    Islamabad: 18th February, 2017
                       
            All Japan Judo Federation has donated one hundred and forty-one (141) Tatami mats to Pakistan Judo Federation as a token of appreciation for the hard work done by Pakistan Judo Federation in promoting the sport of Judo in Pakistan.
 
A handing-over ceremony of these tatami mats was held on Saturday 18th February 2017 at the Liaquat Gymnasium of Pakistan Sports Complex. H.E. Mr. Takashi Kurai, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, formally handed-over the tatami mats to the officials of Pakistan Judo Federation at the occasion of final competition and medal award ceremony of 25th Men & 8th Women National Judo Championship held at the Pakistan Sports Complex. H.E. Mr. Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Minister of Inter-Provincial Coordination, also graced the occasion with his presence.
 
Ambassador Takashi Kurai while speaking at the occasion has said that the Embassy of Japan has always supported the promotion of Japanese arts, culture and sports in Pakistan with the hope to connect with the Pakistani people and to share a part of Japanese culture with them. Ambassador Kurai said that the donation of tatami mats to Pakistan Judo Federation by the All Japan Judo Federation is a small token of appreciation for the hard work done by Pakistan Judo Federation in promoting the sport of Judo in Pakistan. He hoped that these tatamis will aid and benefit the trainers and trainess in their training. (End)
